The college basketball (and agency recruiting) landscape took a major turn with Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) legislation being signed into law and effective as of July 1, 2021.
Since NIL’s inception, the Rookie Scale team has been closely monitoring which prospects have partnered with an agency for NIL representation. While this doesn’t necessarily mean these agencies will retain these players as clients for NBPA-certified representation, successful working relationships in navigating the new world of NIL could certainly give these agencies a notable leg up in the player/agent recruiting cycle.
